It may not be amazing to you, but for me, it was an astounding act of honesty! And really, that is sad. Someone dinged my car yesterday in the parking lot in Aliso Viejo, California and actually left me a note explaining what happened along with their contact information.
Between both of my cars, there has been more than ten dings created in various parking lots. And no note. So this was truly an amazing thing to happen to me.
The ding was minor, but I called the number anyway and told the family that there was no worry about any bills or fees. I just called to express my gratitude of their integrity and thank them for making my day!

It’s always nice to hear about things like this. Honesty and consideration of this kind give me hope for mankind.

It is encouraging to observe that in a world of so much greed and selfishness, such acts of honesty and integrity can still be found.
Thanks for highlighting this.

Well. I once managed to hit a door mirror of a parked car trying to avoid an accident with a tram. I was tired and it took me too long to notice that the tram tracks bended towards the side of the road I was driving on. Anyways, I left a note with my contact information explaining what happened. I even collected all the mirrors bits and placed them on the note. I had to pay the equivalent of 400 USD because the damn mirror had a “chrome inlining”, which obviously is the reason for the hefty price difference to a normal mirror, which costs 120 USD for that kind of car.
Having said that, one should in general stand by ones mistakes.

It is sad when a simple act like this of “doing the right thing” is the exception. I appreciate you bringing it to my attention. Hopefully, it will encourage others to to do right the next time a mistake is made and no one is watching. Great post!
