Today I received an email from Google apologizing for the outages relating to their Google Apps suite, which I use as part of my core infrastructure. I was not actually effected by the outages, but I did hear about them on various podcasts and blogs. I find their solution to the issue to be fair and I feel confident in the continued use of their service. Following is a copy of the email they sent me.

It may not be amazing to you, but for me, it was an astounding act of honesty! And really, that is sad. Someone dinged my car yesterday in the parking lot in Aliso Viejo, California and actually left me a note explaining what happened along with their contact information.
