It is sad when a simple act like this of "doing the right thing" is the exception. I appreciate you bringing it to my attention. Hopefully, it will encourage others to to do right the next time a mistake is made and no one is watching. Great post!

Well. I once managed to hit a door mirror of a parked car trying to avoid an accident with a tram. I was tired and it took me too long to notice that the tram tracks bended towards the side of the road I was driving on. Anyways, I left a note with my contact information explaining what happened. I even collected all the mirrors bits and placed them on the note. I had to pay the equivalent of 400 USD because the damn mirror had a "chrome inlining", which obviously is the reason for the hefty price difference to a normal mirror, which costs 120 USD for that kind of car.
Having said that, one should in general stand by ones mistakes.

It is encouraging to observe that in a world of so much greed and selfishness, such acts of honesty and integrity can still be found.
Thanks for highlighting this.
