GPS Nirvana with the Verizon xv6800 Running Windows Mobile 6.1

Because Verizon locks down the internal GPS, I was forced to use an external GPS receiver via Bluetooth to have any GPS love. Fortunately, now that the Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade allows VZ Navigator to access the internal GPS, a solution to unlock the internal GPS has been created. Here I hope to save you time from searching through the various forums for the answer.

Digital Writing: Any Paper, Anywhere

There are many digital pens out there that convert your handwritten notes and drawings to a digital format for storage and editing.  Two that have risen to the top are the Livescribe Pulse and the IOGEAR Digital Scribe.

The Pulse uses a tip-mounted camera to capture the writing and store it into internal memory. From there, it can be plugged into a USB port for transfer of the documents.

The Digital Scribe uses a receiver that captures the writings of the pen.  It can be attached directly into a USB port while writing or stored and transferred later.

BaseCamp Just Became Much More Usable

One of my biggest complaints with BaseCamp is the inability to add a description to milestones easily. You can work around that problem by creating a message after you create your milestone, then attach that message to the milestone. Far too many steps! I want to be able to quickly add the description without all of the extra steps.

While I still cant add a description directly from the milestone creation screen, BaseCamp has just made it much easier to attach a description.

To Google: Apology Accepted

Today I received an email from Google apologizing for the outages relating to their Google Apps suite, which I use as part of my core infrastructure. I was not actually effected by the outages, but I did hear about them on various podcasts and blogs. I find their solution to the issue to be fair and I feel confident in the continued use of their service. Following is a copy of the email they sent me.
